Fences - How Does The License Work?

I have been wanting to buy Fences on steam but the license confuses me, I've looked through the EULA but it doesn't explain how long the license lasts or subscription. Can someone explain it to me? I'm reluctent to buy due to the confusion :')

If you purchase standalone fences then you get all the updates until a theoretical Fences 4.  Fences 4 would then be an upgrade which may or may not be discounted for previous owners.

That is for Object Desktop. A stand alone program is what Neil said above. If you purchase a stand alone program and save the .exe file and license. You can use it forever as long as it works on the system. You will just not get updates when a new version number comes out no matter how long it has been. Could be a week could be years.

Nice, I bought it on Steam so not sure about the license key is but thanks knowing it wasn't gonna be a rip off made me happy to buy it. Giving how useful it is.
