Can't upgrade to Start10??

So, I got an email from Stardock telling me that I can save a buck by buying Start10 using the link in the email (linked to this with a bunch of tracking info that I stripped out).  I bought Start8 a little while ago and, though that product is working fine in Windows 10, I thought it couldn't hurt to upgrade.  Well, after going through the hoops of entering my paypal information and after I pressed submit, I got a nastygram back saying I need to own the prerequisite product before buying the upgrade.  What the crap, I do own it, I found the invoice in my customer portal, and the best part is that you guys know it because you sent me the email suggesting I get it.  I guess that since Start8 still works fine I don't need to waste $4 for the upgrade, but still.  Whatever, just had to vent.

Were you checking out with the same store account/email address you used before? Or possibly using paypal with an email different than your stardock account?

As a heads up, Start8 isn't fully working on Windows 10.  The modern apps list is no doubt blank, the jumplists will be non functional and if you have the taskbar search field enabled it will be overlapping the left most running apps.  There are other issues, but those are the big ones assuming your Windows 10 install is the current release.

They may not bother you depending on your use case, but I thought I worth mentioning.

I imagine the problem is an email one and Stardock Sales support will no doubt be more than happy to assist you so you can get the discount.

Funny thing, the modern apps list is fully functional.  I disable Cortana completely because it's dumb, so the app doesn't interfere with it, and I don't even know what a jumplist is.  Everything functions, as far as I can tell, as well as it did in Windows 8.1.  Honestly, the only reason I upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 was because my bootloader was jacked up and it was preventing me from using bitlocker.  Upgrading fixed it, but at the cost of now I'm running Windows 10...

Thanks for mentioning it, I remember seeing a little warning that popped up when I upgraded to Win10 about Cortana and Start8 but I couldn't remember the incompatibilities.  Now that I know that for me they are non-issues, I know I don't really need Start10 anyway.
