Trial user here, when I drag and drop a file from the browser and then rename it, fences also renames the files I had selected before the drag and drop action. It should only be the dropped file/s that gets renamed.
Also been having this one for while.
Have to resort to creating the folders in in Windows Explorer instead of Desktop, which is a big inconvenience.
Had this issue with Fences 2, and now with Fences 3. (both paid versions)
Both on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
I do have the same problem with Fences 3.0.5.11.
After creating a new notepad text file and renaming it all the previous selected shortcuts are renamed as well. 
Very annoying!

That ticket link leads to a page that makes the user choose from amongst topics none of which seem to pertain to _bugs_. I submitted a ticket anyway.
