The Regular Celebrity Death Notice Bringers Missed This One

Rick Parfitt of Status Quo has passed away

Sadly, Rick Parfitt, the long time guitarist of Status Quo, passed away on Christmas Eve in a Spanish hospital from complications to an infection he had.

I recall listening to Quo's 'Down the Dustpipe' on UK radio back in the 60's and thinking "how I like this band".  Yup, Status Quo brought us some great tunes over the 40 years they've been together.  Sadly, they are now missing a core member.

R.I.P. Rick Parfitt.

I discoverd them when I was 17. And listened to them on casette in my walkman on the train to work.  Some of my favourites are.. Paradise Flats, Gerdundula, Sunny Celophane Skies, Elizabeth Dreams, Shy Fly, Nothing at All, In the Army now....

I could go on all day.  I was actually listening to them the other night before I read about Rick online yesterday  -_-

Rest In Peace lovely one.  <3 <3 <3

Yeah, the Quo are one of my fave bands of all time, and they always put on a great stage show whenever they performed live.  Status Quo toured Oz back in the 80's and I was going to see them at Twin Towns Services Club on the Gold Coast, but was unable to go due to not being able to tee up a babysitter in time.  They've done other tours since then, and again I was unable to attend for one reason or another.  Still, I was lucky enough to catch them back in '68 and '69 in the UK during their hey day.

Yup, way too many.  And then Wiz's wife sadly passes just before the new year.  2016 was an annus horribilus for stars and life's great characters leaving us far too soon.
