Youtube video as background

I would like to use one of the many YouTube videos looping videos at a background, I have used an application to download 4K video loops from YouTube but they download as MP4 or MKV and it seems that DeskScapes 8 can only use .avi and a .wmv or a few others. I looked in to converting the file to those formats but they are really large files and seem to crash when converting. any suggestions folks?

Avi and wmv are the only file formats for desscapes.

4K to HD will still give good quality.

If the YouTube video is for your own use only then fine.

YouTube video is not allowed though to upload to the site for download as a dream

There is a lot of 4K video out there now but most of the programs and converters are still in HD mode as is Deskscapes.

when you say "HD Mode" i'm assuming you mean 1080p? yeah i've noticed the same. does anyone have a link to any free 4K dreamscapes just want to see the difference.

Would be nice to get support for Youtube Videos aka MP4 H264.

It is very easy to convert mp4 videos to avi or wmv, you can do it with several online convrsion sites such as this https://video.online-convert.com/convert-to-wmv

Then use the converted file to make the dream file.

Why don't don't just rename the .mp4 file to .avi?

I've done that and it works perfectly with Deskcapes 8.51.

If you try that you need to be aware of a couple things file size and video quality

and most video without an edit won't have a seamless loop , you'll get more of

a start and stop and start again or a jump at the end. To create the seamless loop

you'll need to edit the video and if you do that then can be saved to the file type

you need it to be .

So if your OK with video editing have at it .
