Is there a way to get .gif files converted to dreams

I've been trying to get a file that was originally a .gif file to a dream. I have tries to change the extension to a .mpg and .avi and used dreammaker to make the dream but windows wont allow those (no .mpeg decoder). I have also gone to Wincustomize.com ant tried doing it there but I get the same issue.

 is there any way to convert a .gif to a dream or not?

You might be able to convert your GIF to another format like JPG and then build your Dream file.  Just re-naming the extension from filename.gif to filename.mpg does not change the file in any way.

Try Irfanview  If you want/need to convert it.  I haven't used Dreammaker but it needs a series of still images to make the movie file I would think.
