LogonStudio freezes when trying to load a new image

I have LogonStudio 1.7.0 installed. I went to wincustomize.com and downloaded some new images. The issue I'm running into is that every time I try to load a new skin LogonStudio freezes with a message a the bottom saying "Loading thumbnails..." and won't do anything else. I don't know of any other way to load a new image. I've tried using the "Load" button in the program, I've tried drag-and-drop, and I've tried double-clicking on the the .logonvista file. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

From the LogonStudio page "LogonStudio is a free program that allows users to change their Windows 7, Vista and XP logon screens. It comes with several logon screens to choose from, along with thousands that are available online."

You didn't mention which version of Windows you are using.
