IP Problem

So, I decided to give IP 10 a try... when i tried to go back to default OS icons, it left several icons in the Iconpackage format i had previously had loaded.

So... pretty pissed off, i decided to remove it completely... and after a reboot, and complete uninstall.. and.. scrubbing theh registry and.. more reboots...

yes.. u guessed it.. the problem icons were still using non default (windows)  icons... including PSD and .MOV.

Any help would be appreciated.

and yes, i did a rebuild of icon cache, several times.

If you're using a Standard, Non-admin login I've had the best luck changing icons (or going back to default) by doing it twice in a row - once by launching icon packager  using "Run as Administrator", then again by launching it normally.  It seems to need both.

Edit- I should've looked at my shortcuts first, I seem to have decided the order is important.  I do "Run as Admin" 1st, then "Regular" 2nd.

Thanks Dave.. actually didn't help but prompted me to try something else.

I Deleted all the packages included with IP, then applied default, then rebooted and it fixed it.

Cheers!

Glad you got there one way or the other.

Always happy to be helpful by completely barking up the wrong tree - it's my specialty.
