Icon packager issue

I was customizing my icons and when I would apply them they would be applied to the wrong thing. Eventually I figured out that for some reason 1 of the icons couldn't be found during the application/save process even though i was able to browse to it and add it to the package. Might be a good idea to verify all icons are present when saving/applying the package and throw up an error if there is an issue. I only found out because after applying my changes that icon was blank and when I double clicked on it iy said it couldn't be found. Caused me quite a bit of hassle to constantly correct the icons it messed up.

The numbering of icons in an icon package folder is critical. If you do anything to disrupt or change that numbering order in a package folder, the icons will not display for what they were intended. You cannot add to or subtract from an already created package. You can only "replace" an icon with another of your choice, but it must be "labeled" exactly as the icon you want to replace.   -- Ace --

You misunderstand me. I was using the Icon packager interface to change the icons, not fiddling with the files myself.

Well, I think I am going to have to give up on icon packager again. It just won't consistently change my icons. Icons I have chosen disappear after I apply them. Sometimes when it does apply them they appear correctly in my os but are missing from IP. Other times the icon in IP is correct but it is not the icon the os is using. For example my network drive connected icon will sometimes be applied as my removable drive icon, or it will have no icon at all. my live folder icons will randomly revert back to windows defaults, even though my current set has live folders and IP shows the correct icons. I have to change them to something else then change them back to get them to work correctly. Maybe the program isn't meant to change a few icons at a time like I do. Even saving my changes to a new icon pack causes trouble.

I would really like some help because I really want to be able to use this program. It and window fx are y I am subscribed to object desktop.

Could there be an issue with the icons Icon developer 5 makes?

I am on windows 8.1 pro

Some overly aggressive Anti-virus programs such as Norton, to name one, can also have an adverse effect on programs such as IconPackager. Personally , I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit ,and I have not had a single issue with Iconpackager 10. My anti-virus of choice is Avast Pro. I'm also a little suspicious of some of the Windows Update security patches. I review each update before allowing it to be installed, and I only install the most critical updates that I'm comfortable with. MS is infamous for borking files and programs with their patches.    -- Ace --
