Slow filling of window frames

I am running Windows 10 x64 Pro 1607 build 14393.51, with WindowBlinds 10.07, Start10 1.11 and WindowFX 6.02.

Certain applications start and the outer frame displays, but the frame is not filled for about 5 - 7 seconds. This is most noticeable with the configuration applications for Start10 and WindowFX. As I have not seen any other reports of this I assume I have done something I shouldn't have. Can you tell what I should do to get back to a reasonable display time?

Edit: It also occurs on the WindowBlinds configuration application. I have also tested other themes and the effect only seems to occur with the Lantana theme supplied with WindowBlinds.

Only thing I can say is for me the Lantana theme works fine so it must be something else. I am in no way telling you wnat to do but if you don't get any replies to try I would do this. I would uninstall WindowFX reboot and see if that solves. If it doesn't at least you would know it's not that. Do remember when you do something like this I would also apply a different WB then apply. Next I would apply the skin you are trying to check.

Thanks for your help, but I have decided to uninstall WindowBlinds, WindowFX and SkinStudio for the nonce. I'll consider reinstalling if and when any updated versions appear.

If you are having the problem with one theme it is probably a problem with the theme.  I would delete the .WB4 files in the skin directory as it may be corrupted data.

Uninstalling WindowBlinds, WindowFX and SkinStudio seems like an overreaction in my opinion, especially as nobody else is experiencing the same.  Obviously if you are having other issues as well do please mention them to us as we are always working on updates for the products.

Neil,

I reinstalled WindowBlinds only and re-booted. I selected Lantana and applied it. The poor response from Start10 was back. I went back to the Default theme and deleted the .WB4 files from Lantana. I reselected Lantana and applied it. Again the problem with Start10 was there.

I am not aware of any other problems I could be having. I accept that as no-one else is having this problem, it must be something I have done to my system.

I am going to pull WindowBlinds again.

Why not use another theme?

I don't really like any of the other themes I have seen. Most of them are too dark.

Out of 5470+ themes you like 1 theme...... Picky man ;)

I can't claim to have looked at every theme that's available. A large number don't seem to be Windows 10 ready. Your themes, for example, tend towards the dark side.

It does look like there may be something going on here.  I see what he's talking about in Lantana, Light Mark, Polaris, Prowler, and Recoil.  I didn't go through all my skins.

I deleted the .wb4 files, didn't help.  Deleted my skin folders in Explorer, rebuilt the WBConfig list, reinstalled the skins fresh and deleted the .wb4 files, didn't help.

Personally it doesn't bother me that much, but it does seem to be there (for me too).  I probably would have noticed it if it present prior to the Win10 1607 update. Here's my WB About if it might help:

Windows 10 Home (14393.rs1_release.160715-1616)
WindowBlinds 10 (015 - Windows 10 Edition) - 64 bit OS

Wblind.dll 2016/06/30 11:57:23
Wblind64.dll 2016/06/30 11:57:44
Wbsrv.dll 2016/03/04 08:54:32
WB10Config.exe 2016/06/30 15:47:45
Wbload.dll 2016/06/30 15:45:18
Screen.exe 2015/12/02 08:52:27

Using Intel HD4600 integrated graphics.

ESET Antivirus with WBCore.exe allowed in HIPS

If a person finds the configuration window pauses troublesome, an option is to add per application exclusions for them within Windowblinds.  Just providing an option.

I have just installed WindowBlinds 10.4.5 Beta and it seems to have fixed the slow filling problem. Well done!

Edit: In fact performance generally seems better, more responsive.
