Object Desktop Subscription Question

Hi, I purchased Object Desktop a while back but in my "Downloads" page, is reports that I have X number of days before Object Desktop expires.

I was under the impression that I PURCHASED ALL the software listed in the Object Desktop Manager.

Is Object Desktop Subscription based and do I own the software listed? Do I pay an annual subscription just for updates on the software I own or will ALL my software also expire? Will I be able to continue using the software even if I do not renew my subscription?

Secondly, IF I loose my software if I do not subscribe again, can I then purchase only the software I like for example THIS PAGE:

https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/download.asp

says I can purchase WindowsBlinds for $9.99.

Will this be a permanent purchase or subscription as well?

Thank you

Regards

While you have an active subscription you get all updates and any new apps as long as your an active member.

You can still use the apps you have, but you will not receive updates and you must save your downloads before your subscription ends.

If you purchase a stand-alone app like WindowBlinds, it is not a membership.

Thank you for your quick response Island Dog and neone6. One last question, please...

If I purchase a stand-alone software like WindowBlind, will I receive updates and bugfixes?

I kanda like the Stardock Object Manager, but there is quite a few software that is not compatible with Windows 10 (they are greyed out) AND some software I just don't need. So I don't mind purchasing stand-alone software as long as they also receive updates.

With standalones, you get all updates and bug fixes clear up to the next version number. Since WB10 is a recent release, it should be quite some time until they roll out WB11.

This is very important as you will not have access to your software if your subscription expires. I save all of mine, even the ones that are OS specific to an OS I don't use. You never know if you may need them. The installers don't take up much room. You will still be able to activate them, even if your sub is expired.

GREAT advice, thanks my friend!

Am I correct assuming that:

1) AFTER my subscription expires, my single serial number will still apply for all my software;

2) I can always opt in to subscribe again (because I'm thinking it might just be cheaper to stay subscribed and get updates for $29.99...3 Stardock software also cost around $30...so I think I might just keep on subscribing)...is this correct?

Blessings to all

Hans

You are correct on both counts.

And don't forget, a subscription also gives you access to betas and  new software when it comes out.
