wish I could participate more in this forum

In their infinite wisdom, whoever designed this forum set it up so that new accounts are extremely limited in the number of posts or replies they can make, even in threads that they themselves started.

Pretty bogus if you ask me. I started a thread here where I asked a question, got a response from Orachin, have since tried out his suggestion, and have some additional comments. I can't even reply to that thread anymore though, because the board has decided I've posted enough for a new player already.

What a great way to welcome paying customers into your community of players. Well done. I feel really welcome now. Anyhow, when can I expect my reply cap to be lifted so that I may have more than 3 or 4 replies globally across all threads that I've participated on? Or am I to be a second class citizen here for days or even weeks? When do I get to participate on this forum like more established members?

These are spam control restrictions that will be removed in short time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

There's a little psychology at play here. People are more excited about something the newer it is. When you put a damper on someone right up front, you basically waste that enthusiastic new period. I actually had to wait an hour or so just to post this reply. Oh well.

Yes, it can be quite frustrating, and unfortunate, however having your posts of enthusiasm swamped and lost amongst a plethora of totally irrelevant spam can be even more frustrating.

For everyone...;)

It would be nice if the limiter didn't apply to us paying customers who have actual stardock products linked to the account. :)

Unfortunately, even people with products on their account have been a problem with them. The restrictions are minor and go away in a short period. It's really not a big deal.
