Cannot move icons across fences

desktop NOT locked

I just upgraded to the new version of Fences and I now cannot move any icons from one fence to another.  I noted a number of prior postings regarding this issue, none of which appear to solve the problem.  I checked and I do NOT have locked checked.  I rebooted and that did not fix the problem.  Looking for help from support. Thank you.

It's even worse. You can't move icon's anywhere else once they are placed on your desktop.

Make sure you have the latest Fences 3 version, found in your Stardock account.

Then do a reinstall and reboot.

If you still have an issue please start a support ticket so we can assist further.

I still have v2.01 and just tried it on W10 (always used on W7 before).
Read many online posts about this issue, which isn't always solved by using later versions.
Disabling Fences doesn't work, removing could but I don't want that.
While Icons are locked (unable to drag icons within fences, or seperate ones on desktop)
there still is a way to get them to other locations you want.
It's a bit clumsy, but for me the only option.
Simply: Rightclick an icon and cut it. Then rightclick on the location on desktop or in fence
where you want it to be and select paste. it will be moved there.
At least icons are saved on those locations after each reboot. Have to use it like this then.

I, too, have had this problem on Fences 2 & now 3 on Windows 7. Can NOT move icons from where they are on screen. And fences wants to move my icons randomly to where it thinks they ought to go, which isn't anywhere near where they ought to be. Very dissatisfied.

Make sure you have not locked your Fences.

In regards to moving icons, it only does this on the first run if you choose it or if you have created fence rules.
