Folder icon for Fences folder portals displaced in Windows 7

I've just purchased Fences version 3.0 and installed it 'over the top' of an existing Fences 2 installation on a Windows 7 Enterprise x64 laptop.

I've noticed that the folder icon which denotes a folder portal is now displaced a few pixels down from where it should be. See this screenshot for an example.

It's not a huge problem, it just look a bit odd.

Can it be fixed?

Interesting.

What resolution and DPI are you set at?

One monitor or many?

Thanks!

Dual Lenovo 24" 1920 x 1200 monitors (94 DPI???), all fences on the left-hand monitor.

Kind regards,

How the heck did you do that? ;)

I plugged the resolution and screen size into http://dpi.lv/ and out popped 94 DPI. Doesn't that figure look correct?

This issue is also affecting my Windows 10 installation of Fences 3.0 - see this screenshot of my Windows 10 desktop showing a displaced icon for the folder portal.

Maybe this is something to do with the Fences label font size I am using - 9pt Segoe UI italic. If I increase the size to 14pt the folder icon is better placed in relation to the fence label text, but this displacement didn't affect Fences version 2.0.

I have reproduced this by changing the font size.

I will alert the devs and see what we can do.

Thanks so much for the feedback!

Has there been any progress in the 5 weeks since the devs were alerted to this problem?

We do not yet have a resolution.  The case is still open though.

Hi,

I also have a similar problem and I have been waiting for the last past year for a solution to that, I don't know if this is too much of a hassle from a developer point of view, but everyone is getting higher resolution laptop/pcs and could like to use smaller fonts for the fence headlines, I have found a way to replace the source "folder" image file with a modified one that I made so it looks a bit less weird, but this problem is actually getting the best of the experience with Fences.

Eray

I dislike having the icon there in the first place so the fact that it is displaced drives me crazy.

In addition to fixing this issue I would like the option to turn the icon off completely please.

Thanks.
