i need help

I have no idea what els to do I have had a account using the impulse/gamestop app science 2009-10, i logged in earlier this month to download some games, they were all gone, i had no problem logging into the app. I called customer service, they said I would ge a e-mail, i ever recived one I e-mailed the support mail,

I was told to call customer support, I called customer support they told me to use e-mail i called customer support again got a supervisor, assured me i would receive an email,

In total I have been lied to 4-5 times about getting further correspondence getting this issue resolved. (which caused me to loose my temper, as i have to spend 30 mins waiting to talk to somebody, then a further hour re-explaining my situation every time) now when I call they just say I have no account and hang up on me.

I have spent a lot of money on these game I no longer have access to, when game spot took over, I was assured my games would be available to download.

I can download the stardock games from here, but all the others, are just gone?

now I have lost over 200 dollers woth of games, and they will not erespnd to e-mail, and say i dont have an accout and hang up[?

Unfortunately we don't have any ability to do anything with GameStop accounts or their app; GameStop purchased Impulse a several years ago now.

Everything you had through Impulse should still be available in the GameStop app (though they discontinued new sales through it in 2014), but you will need to work through any issues with GameStop support. It looks like they might be having an issue as it just gives me a blank screen with 404 errors in the logs as well.

No, that's the wrong URL. Impulse's site was always impulsedriven.com, which redirects to gamestop.com.

I am seriously considering a class action suit against GameStop due to their decision to shut the file servers down with zero warning

I too can not see nor get any of my stuff, I have been trying to deal with them via email to no avail (its not really you crap)

even on the pc's I have 'authorized' with them it only shows the games that are installed and not all of them

if anyone else is having nothing but trouble with them please reply to this thread and we'll make GS pay 'till it hurts'

because this is theft of property defamation of character and fraud

your trying to pass the buck when you're the fraudulent party by selling to whoever our stuff without telling us, you had everyone's email...
do you really think a judge is gonna believe this? fine, even if the bs you say is true your company is still responsible for making the app
on YOUR site work with wherever the server is located at, so fix your crap...quit lying to us, and give us the stuff we LEGALLY PAID FOR

I suspect that person doesn't even know what you're talking about. You need to be clear that you are talking about "GameStop PC Downloads App". They rebranded it shortly after they bought it and I doubt that person you spoke to was even around then.

That Malaysian gaming store has existed with that name since well before GameStop purchased the digital distribution platform from us, and has nothing to do with GameStop's digital downloads.

yeah I know, they now think its the phone (android app) and want me to call them, I think they're getting scared, cause in less than an hr

the judge is gonna get updated, and we'll see from there, but of all the crap I've went through it could be the truth, that they did indeed stupidly do that

but everything they've done thus far has been dumb....ignore the issue, lie to people, ask the same questions 50 thousand times, tell me its been dealt with when in fact it hasn't, the servers in fact do not respond, so it makes sense that they did that (shut em down) I've seen bigger companies do dumber things like show up at a settlement hearing without the settlement money (which got a quick comtempt charge on their lawyers)

That's the odd thing. I actually ran a traffic capture on it myself, and though the log says it got a 404 on something, and the screen stays blank, there aren't any 404s recorded in the capture. I can see it get a successful login response, retrieve registrations, download the server URL list, etc. Certainly doesn't seem like a deliberate issue. More like something broke, nobody is left who knows anything about it, and the T1 support aren't interested in escalating it properly (I wouldn't be surprised if they got bad performance ratings if they escalate too many issues or something).

now you know WHAT court I took it to, and before you ask, he CAN do that, that makes no sense either, but neither did netspend not having the funds in court to pay me either, and 3 lawyers are rotting in jail forever over that too....so like I said I've seen more stupid moves than what GS is doing, I'll get to the bottom of it because someone's gonna have to answer the judges questions more than mine and he is not someone who you trifle with, because he has this nasty of habit of losing the key to the jail cell (ya know the lock you up, throw away the key bit)

I have some luck in contacting the makers of some of my games at getting either stand alone installers or steam keys to use

I've only had 1 give me 'you must buy it again' crap

so I would do a google search and see who makes them and contact them to get new stuff, because Gamestop is only going down

if / when you do that go into the speel of 'no email address, and what's the error again for 50k times etc

I am totally convinced that they did in fact sell it turn it off whatever, because I have never run into so much bs

from ANYPLACE, they are so clueless I have a appeals court breathing down their throats even though they did finally tell me it was escalated

and I thought , yeah escalated to you being unemployed, in fact when I mentioned 'have you passed this past your legal dept' only then it might have dawned on them how deep they are (shit wise)  because if they had been forthcoming (ha) tell me the truth and dealt with it...I would have gone ok...but since they called me a liar, told me lies repeatedly, passed the buck up till maybe now, I wouldn't be wanting their heads on a platter, but that's all I'm settling for now, because with a few exception have all the stuff replaced already, so its not the decade old software I'm after, its the principle of it all, and for that...its cya later GAME 'STOP' they told us pc gamers to go FO now its my turn to tell them where to go forever....

Dunno about them selling but gamestop is definitely a weak company that doesn't take care of those of us who made the mistake of trusting Stardock and buying on Impulse.

 

Doesn't feel good to be sold and it's very annoying to not be able to get at your digital purchases when trusting the people who hold those is the foundation of the whole digital thing.

 

I bought games from Stardock - a company I tend to like and if I had known they'd turn around and sell us to a crappy company that doesn't give a crap I probably would've bought from a different source.  Back in those days before I was full on with steam I used to buy from several sites that are now tiny players - but they at least still exist and I can get to my games (and whenever possible bought stardock stuff directly from stardock).

 

Their gamestop app is a piece of junk and is basically done as of 2014 even if it's the only way they provide access to our old games.  The app doesn't work right and reinstalling it leaves it in an even worse state since their authentication system is broken.  I reinstalled since the app wasn't showing my whole library, just games that were installed, and it was giving an error but now it's even more hosed.  I've contacted gamestop but even their contact form is a piece of junk so I'm not all that hopeful (and no reply yet because even though they're fine taking your money 24/7 they probably don't do weekend support).

 

Gamestop apparently no longer offers downloads themselves.  They sell games but they give out steam/origin/uplay/whatever keys.  Too bad they didn't just give us all steam keys for games we bought via Stardock/Impulse.

Can anyone help me out please, I can't get Impulse/Gamestop app to work correctly on my computer, everytime I try to start the program up an log in to my Stardock-Impulse/Gamestop app account it keeps telling me there is an "Unknown Error" logging in and I can't log in to update/use my games and stuff on my account ...... OMG I've never encountered this kind of problem with Impulse before ... not even once (at least it had more settings in it to fix a problem), and so does anyone know how to fix this problem ... or at least know where I can download an updated version of the gamestop app because I can't find one anywere?

Thanks for the info Island Dog, but how am I supposed to update the software an videogames in my account without the digital distribution platforms like Stardock Central and Impulse, and is it possible to register them to my steam account via their key-codes that are registered to our stardock accounts???
