It Shouldn't Be That Difficult

I've been a member of Stardock for over 20+ years and I am still waiting on them (Stardock) to put together a comprehensive user guide that every user has access to when they purchase a subscription.  Most companies now days provide something akin to a user guide that comes with the product although many aren't work the paper they are printed on.  When you consider the costs of troubleshooting techs versus a usable guide containing a comprehensive bible on troubleshooting, Lord knows there's enough information out there if you want to take the time to find the answer to your particular issue.  I think Stardock would save money on troubleshooting costs and use that money perhaps to create new themes of their own. There are so many very talented and skilled folks out there. I love Stardock products but their customer support could be more effective.  I don't think they really can afford to create a user guide for their product line. Besides under normal conditions this software is really easy to implement and use.  Most of the time it's the user and/or their computer system that is the problem, I said most, not all  by a long shot.

Actually, members frequently enjoy helping others, and any such tome would be hundreds of pages long.

As it is, people don't read FAQs, nor research the topic in Forums. SD Support is prompt and frequently Neil answers the questions himself.

The thought that this magnum opus might replace SD Support while nice, simply isn't realistic. I can imagine the supersonic howl tearing dogs' eardrums on Alpha Centauri, "SD sells software without support???!!!". Besides, there are always new problems and unique situations, so no money would be "saved", and on which page would "Did you plug in your computer?" be on?
