Multiplicity 3.42 update

I have been using Multiplicity 3 KVM Pro 3.41 (Edgerunner) for quite a while without any problems until ObjectDesktop recently informed me that there was an update to version 3.42... Assuming that ObjectDesktop knew what it was talking about I installed this update - only to discover that I had in fact now DOWNGRADED to Multiplicity 3 KM 3.42 and had lost the KVM functionality.

As it now seems apparent that the Stardock and Edgerunner versions are NOT the same thing (the serial numbers are not interchangeable!) - despite having the same name and coming from the same parent company - I would like to know why ObjectDesktop suggests updating a software that I DO NOT have installed! This error has caused me a fair amount of stress as it basically killed my networked setup and cost me some time to get straightened out... (reinstalling the Edgerunner 3.41 version solved it)

Please teach ObjectDesktop to properly recognize an installed Edgerunner version of Multiplicity and not offer to update it as this is causing confusion.

Regards

Simon

I have to agree with Simon, I am having the same issues but a re install of 3.41 is not working for me.

I brought Multiplicity from Edgerunner which has worked well

I just brought Object Desktop Manager and did the upgrade now I can't not use Multiplicity at all

Here we are 2 weeks later and Stardock have not even bothered replying to the issue and ObjectDesktop is still trying to pursuade me to 'update' to v3.42 (again)!!

I suspect they are just too busy trying to make money to bother with little things like customer support and a functional update system!

@drak41:  Did you try doing a complete de-install of the 3.42 version, rebooting and then installing the Edgerunner 3.41 version? This was how I got back up and running again!

Have any of you created a case with support? https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit

That way we can look at your details.

I am having the same issue. However, I have purchased the upgrade to 3.42 thinking that if I uninstalled the edgerunner version and then install the new one it would work. Nope, nope, nope.

I submitted a ticket on April 02 which was acknowledged by Alan Cole on April 05 - and since then a deafening silence!!  Nothing, nada!!

... and the problem still exists!!

This seems to prove the point i was making with my comments dated April 01.

Anyhow, my ObjectDesktop subscription will be expiring soon so maybe then I will stop being reminded to 'update' to an inferior version?
