Production Wheel Blues

It's taken me a while to get around to playing Galciv 3 (was waiting for it to get a bit more meat on it's bones) but now here I am.  Hiyas.

I've got a question about the production wheel and am hoping someone can tell me that I'm missing something.  There has to be a way for me to easily set specific numbers for Wealth, Manufacturing, and Research, but I sure can't find it.  There's three lines right under the wheel that give the values, and it seems like there should be sliders there, but I can't figure out how to set them up.  Presently, I'm left with trying to fiddle with the wheel in an attempt to pinpoint the exact hex that gives the values I want (which is of course frustrating) - like "Wealth 10%, Research 60%, Manufacturing 30%" or whatever.

I remember during Beta, there was a lot of discussion regarding the Production Wheel and most of it was favorable.  I, however, was skeptical because it seemed to pose the very problem I'm having with it now.  But I thought I remember reading somewhere where there was an option to enable sliders or something.  Am I nuts or did I dream that?

Anyway, so my question is, how do I set specific values for the production wheel without all the hex-hunting?  I've googled and searched the forums, and even checked my laundry  hamper, but couldn't find anything on this.  Thanks for any help!

At present, there is no mechanism to do what you are asking for.  I agree it would be a UI enhancement for micro managers.

Unfortunatley you are missing nothing. The UI of the wheel really is that bad.

Your only option is to not use the wheel because than you get some focus buttons.

I never understood and will never understand why they did it this way, though. I'm sure the wheel would have been much less controversial if they had given it some focus buttons, given it sliders for the three dimensions as alternative way of adjusting and maybe thrown in a user specific favourite-system ... stuff that every RGB-color-choosing-dialog offers.

Ug, that sucks.  But thanks for the help guys.  At least now I won't be searching for something that doesn't exist.
