DesktopX (verion 1.93(b), 006) won't run on Startup

I just reinstalled Windows XP from scratch on my machine. I installed the latest beta of DesktopX using Stardock Central and it works fine except that it will not run at startup. When I open the desktopX configuration and check the box and hit apply it behaves normally, but I can immediatly open the DesktopX configuration panel again the and the run on startup box is unchecked

Initial install was done using Stardock Central .8 something, I've tried again with the latest version of Stardock Central - still same behavior. No error messages and if I start it manually it runs just fine, I just can't get it to run on startup by itself.

I do have the latest MCP installed too - could that be it?

it took me a minute to remember where I enabled mine, Winstyles app.

Okay - thanks. I've been using DesktopX and Windowblinds for over two years, but this new install is the first time I've ever used Winstyles. When I tried to change the setting on the WinStyles app things freaked out and then anything I touched on the WinStyles tab of the Display properties caused the Display Properties to close.

So - I uninstalled Winstyles and when I tried to start DesktopX I got the missing odimg.dll message. Everything is working now - maybe I'll try WinStyles again, but probably not.

Actually i've been getting that alot with winstyles too. Everytime you select something it just closes it self and doesn't do anything

okay for the Desktopx problem.

First go to confige and set it to autostart then you have to go into the registry to the key: HKCU\Software\Stardock\Common\StartupManager
and remove the quotes from the key for desktopx. For some reson its adding the quote marks which stops it from working) Reboot and all should
start. If you go back into DX options it will reset and you will have to
repeat this.
