Does Ahes of the Singularity run on AMD 6950 under Direct X 12?

I was hoping to find an answer here if I would be able to run Ahes of the Singularity since I've got an older rig.

My rig:

i5 2500

8GB RAM

AMD 6950 2GB

Currently I'm still running Windows 7 and I'm not able to run the game properly, because I'm not very eager to jump to Windows 10 yet I was hoping that someone could tell me if there's enough performance gain from Direct X 12 for such an old computer.

Because the benchmarks I could find lack older rigs I was hoping someone here has some experience with it :)

It appears so. From the FAQ (https://www.ashesofthesingularity.com/game/faq):

Absolute Minimum:

  • 64-bit Windows 7 / 8 / 10 OS
  • Quad Core CPU
  • 8 GB Memory
  • 2 GB DirectX 11 Video Card
  • 1600x900 Display Resolution
  • High-speed Internet Connection

We Recommend:

  • 64-bit Windows 7 / 8 / 10 OS
  • Intel Core i5 (or equivalent) CPU
  • 16 GB Memory
  • Nvidia GTX 970 or AMD R9 390 equivalent Video Card
  • 1920x1080 Display Resolution
  • High-speed Internet Connection)

Your biggest weakness is the GPU. While the AMD 6950 has 2GB of RAM it is a slow card by modern standards. I think you will be able to run it but likely on the low settings. More optimizations to come so perhaps wait and see? One dev was considering releasing a benchmark so that people could try it before buying the game. I don't know if that will happen but it would be pretty ideal for people in your situation.
