Start 10 Not activating

Just wondering if there are any issues with activating at the moment?

I am up to my 3rd customers PC where the activation process fails (over the last 2 days). The error is that "There was a problem connecting to the activation server" and then goes on to say check your internet or try the offline activation.

Issue is, I was able to use the offline activation once (only through firefox though) however now I am unable to activate at all. I have also tried tethering to my phone which uses a different internet provider and still cannot activate..?

I am having the issue with versions 1.06, 1.07 & 1.08 (I tried prior versions in case it was a version issue)

These are all on clean installs of windows 10 so I know there is no software issues.

Help please!

Edit: Was able to get one offline activation working. Just kept trying

This is a problem for me too. The message shown when I install Start10 and try to run it is:

Unable to activate Start10. Please try again or contact support. (Error code: -205)

"contact support" is a link which only leads to the generic Stardock support page.

I have tried up to 20 times but it won't proceed.

It depends on what the offline activation errors are.  Any normal activation method that is failing could be firewall or connectivity issues.

That said, we are not currently seeing any activation issues here.

Hi,

I was able to use the normal activation for a computer I installed Start 10 on this morning and it went perfectly. Have tried to activate on another PC, however it won't go through..

 

I guess I will keep trying to work out what is happening as it must be something on my side.

Me too! Same error -205 on activation attempt. I also tried running it with firewall off. Same result.

I never was able to activate the trial version. I was able to activate using a purchased key. I would say there is some issue with code, not firewall. Doesn't the error code  ("-205") tell you anything?

We did find an issue that would have affected people using just email \ password, and not email and product key, last week.  It has since been repaired.

Hum... I'm having the same kind of issue but with error code: -212... Like dingojmcegan, it worked perfectly on another computer but on my laptop I get this error. <_< Any clue?

I'm now getting this error and it will not go away, I get it with the email-password combo and the e-mail and actiation code combo.  I tried turning off the firewall and it still will not work.  can someone tell me what to do and where to go to get this fixed?  Does Stardock even monitor their forums?
