DeskScapes 8.5 Causing Explorer Crash and error on shutdown

I have been troubleshooting my computer for hours trying to figure out why my explorer crashes every time i log into my computer.  Google search after Google search turned up nothing.  So I started to work backwards on what programs I had recently installed.  Got to Desktop DeskScapes running an animated dream.  I really like it so I didn't want it to be it.  I set my background to a normal image and bam no more errors.  No more explorer crashes on startup and no more errors on shutdown.

I went through the event viewer and got an ID of 56 popup causing the error.  So I thought it was a power management problem.  I messed around with the settings for a bit.  But I'm sad to come to the conclusion that DeskScapes is the problem.

Any ideas or suggestions to make this work without crashing?

No, it doesn't. I'm having the exact same problem described by operationdx, and I'm running Windows 10 (build 10586.36). It causes Explorer to crash, which has ripple effects throughout the operating system and breaks pretty much everything.

Stardock: are you working on a fix for this, or is it safe to consider that Deskscapes isn't compatible with Windows 10? If it isn't, could I get a refund?

Deskscapes 8.5 is compatible with Windows 10.

If you are having problems I recommend contacting support @ https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit  so they can collect more information about your problem as it is not normal.

Should explorer crash it should not have any impact elsewhere in the OS.  If other things are breaking to it suggests something else is also happening too.
