Subscribtion model

Okay so i just bought the Object Desktop upgrade from standalone and was surprised to see that this was a subscription and not a one time payment for a set of applications. I'm not mad, I'm just now confused as to how this will work. Once my subscription expires, will the programs stop working, making me renew it? Or will i get a set of apps that will continue to work regardless and the subscription is for updates?

You will be able to download and use all beta and final versions of any program that is available with your ObjectDesktop cub for one year.

After one year you can and will be able to use any of the programs you wish. However after the year is up you will not be able to use and program updates after the year is out. You would have to renew for another year.

Very important to save and backup the programs you download and keep the reg number. If after the year is up and you don't want to renew again and you don't have the saved programs, need to install them again you will not be able to download them. You may continue to use them after the year is up and if you have them saved need to install them again you can continue to use them.

amandeep_singh are you talking about Object Dock?

There is no such thing as a standalone Object Desktop. Object Desktop is on subscription basis and has many apps in it.

Object Dock is a standalone.

Or, are you talking about Object Desktop Infinite subscription in the past? It no longer exists, in any case.

Essentially what DaveBax said...;)

Sorry I didnt check back guys. Correct me if I'm wrong: I can continue to use my installed apps until my subscription is up. Once my subscription expires, I will no longer be able to download/install the programs anymore. If the programs are installed and activated when the subscription expires, I can continue to use the apps indefinitely as long as I do not uninstall them/remove them. Is that correct?

No.

You can continue to use your apps even after your subscription is up. You should download and archive them now, before your subscription is up.

Make note of your serial and save it on your PC.

If you need to reinstall/activate them later, you'll be able to. Once bought, what you paid for will continue to be yours to use.

You just won't get updates or access to betas once your subscription is up.

Ah. Thank you for that. The serial i should save is the Object Desktop Upgrade Key in my downloads correct? The one with OEM in it?

Yes.

If there was a one time lifetime access for Object Desktop, I would have bought it.

There is.

Simply estimate how long you will live [lifetime] and multiply the annual subscription update/renewal fee....;)
