How do I deal with muiltiple shades ?

How do I select and copy a layer style with color ranges from light to dark, a white stripe and black edges ?

(I do know how to copy)

Assuming you have already created such a style on one layer you can right click on the layer, choose 'copy layer style', then make the other layer active, right click on that one and choose 'paste layer style'. This is what you want...right?

Sorry, I left something out. I need to copy only  part of an image.

Ok...then press alt+J and copy that layer. Above that create a new layer. Use the rectangle selection tool and draw a rectangle around the part you want to copy. Right click on the layer and choose copy, make the new layer you created active, right click and choose paste. That should do it.

Wow  ! Now  I do need to get my printer working.
