Class 25 planets suddenly appearing in galaxy?

Playing a game, and one turn, without apparent warning, a large number of class 25 worlds suddenly appeared throughout my civ.  It looks like it could be a mega-event, but I didn't get a pop up like you normally seem to.

Has anyone else seen this?

I was also surprised when it happened.

I'm sure there was a popup, but I was at the stage of the game were I'm not reading all of them.

I just started a new thread on this.

The planets just showed up but NOT IN MY TERRITORY, all THREE SUPER PLANETS are in the Yor home system.

So after eight hours, bang, that's it, they win.

WTF?

I had the same thing happen to me, except it was on insane map with maxed planets and stars, there were around 50-70 class 25 planets that just fucking popped up everywhere in the galaxy lol. And of course the AI was to fucking stupid to EVER try and colonize them after 80 turns went by. AI sucks right now (COUGH COUGH)

This event was also in GC2.

Went it happen to me (the one I remember), it was only in one part of the galaxy. But it was not in my ZOC.

I colonozed it quickly... and they all culture flip just after.

I lost that game!

I also got that mega event (I was weird I got 4 mega events by turn 100, on turn 12 peacekeepers appeared, turn 20 spacemonesters! turn 90 or so the planets appearead, but I got a pop up just like in the other events and 20 turns later the altarians got the artifact) so it's been a ride, but the composition of my galaxy at that specific game minimized the damage. it was tight clusters, and I had stuck my foot on a lot of them already. So I had local hubs I could draw from without much problems.

That's odd. I had this mega event happen to me in my current game (1.4 opt-in) and the AI have colonized all of the planets within their own territory. I only managed to colonize one of the planets that was in their ZOC but later lost it due to not having enough influence compared to the AI. This was playing on Gifted with tight clusters on an Immense sized galaxy. My AI haven't been "stupid" at all this way.

This happened back to me in 1.2 and has not happened since, they must have fixed it since then lol.
