Anyone getting pop ups when they come here?

More likely something on your end.
You won't get pop-ups of that varety on this site.

ok.. I've emptied histories, cache and temp files.. any more ideas.. (pop ups are the root of all evil > )

I don't know about gamespot, but some outfits have developed stuff that generates their popups when you visit other sites. It does seem unlikely that this site would advertise gamespot.

You might try downloading and running either Adaware or SpyBot Search and Destroy, both antispyware apps. They're free and many people use both just in case. A search on google should provide their web sites for download.

Hmmm, even if this site DID have popups, I probably wouldn't know about it.

I use spystopper along with pop-up killer and spystopper will kill ads on sites along with popups.


They've alrady said there will be no pop-ups or ads on this site so I would get a pop-up stopper which you can get for free (will look for site) or go with what sig101 said.

Problem seems to have disappeared after once again, deleting all histories, temps caches and rebooting... Thanks all...

Non members do see a pop up on wincusto... this has been discussed already... if your a member and your logged in to the site you will not see the pop up... if you regularily log off wincusto then each time you return to log on you will get the pop up.

Yes, Static, but as I recall the pop up here that Werewolf (I think it was) saw was a test and it was still related to WC/SD products, not an unrelated site. FWIW I don' see any popup now, even with Proxomitron disabled and logged out.

Hey, do you have the program for them? Like Gamespot Magic Online? Something like that. Because that will do it.

Yeah, it came back on me. Funny thing though. The ad was for a game which just happens to be made by Stardock. This just started yesterday, after I installed version 3.90e of Windowblinds.. also.. a stardock product. I did install Adaware, scanned and cleaned. We'll see.

the gamespot pop up is not unrelated it is about Galactic Civilizations... a stardock game.

Also to add one last thing... I logged off, refreshed and got the pop up logged back in and now I don't see anything.
