How to clear 'show recently used applications'

From time to time, I like to clear the list of recently used applications. I can see how to disable and then enable it under Configure, but it just brings back the old list when re-enabled it. Is there a file somewhere I can edit or delete (assuming there's no option to clear the list)?

The list is maintained by the OS itself.  In Windows 8 you would untick and tick the option on taskbar properties to reset it, but in Windows 10 this was moved into the new OS settings app under Start.  There are also numerous third party tools which will clear history which should delete these entries.

The strange thing is that my list only shows four items ... and I do use much more than that.

I'm running Windows 10. Does anyone have a method for clearing the list of recently used applications? Thanks

Update: I figure it out. Go to Settins/Personalization/Start and then turn off then on the option "Show Most Used Apps". It seems you must exit from the screen after setting to off before it takes effect. You can then return to turn it back On

Would be very nice if Stat10 included the option to clear the list of recently used program similar to what Windows 7 offered
