Is there a mod to increase the player limit above 4?

Greetings all,

 

I seek to include more than 3 other friends in my online multiplayer games.  I saw a post on a 100 man game back in the beta, so I'm wondering -- has anyone modded the game to allow at least more than 4 humans?  If so, could someone point me in the right direction?

The 100 player game was a single player mod created by Stardock's Derek Paxton. 99 of the players were AI controlled.
