Modding

I've been following this game since early beta maybe even alpha, and enjoyed watching the game being built.

Was wondering if there will be a toolset released for modding or at least instructions on how to mod? Will there be a dedicated forum for modding?

I know these are not pressing questions but I wouldn't mind knowing when you guys have a chance to answer. I'm looking forward to trying the campaign for SK  tonight or tomorrow!

as most files are used same way like in FE, i had a hope that modding will be easy. but i am pretty sure that first thing that you wont be able to mod are heroes. as right now heroes and all other units are using pre-made skeletons and textures

correct me if i am wrong.

regards.

It is possible to mod unit models and their skeletons with 3D software, though that isn't my modding area of knowledge. Forum user heavenfall would know. There is no in-game tool for this, however.

There were no in-game tools for that type of modding in FE or FE:LH either. The way davrovana described it, is I believe, the way Heavenfall was doing it.

Haven't looked at it yet, waiting to hear what SD has planned for modding.

Heavenfall, you showing up after your name was said a couple times made me think of years ago when Derek Smart would show up in threads whenever his name was mentioned on gaming forums a la Beetlejuice. That got me to search out his name to see if he was still around the industry... lo and behold, still up to shenanigans, lol. Really brightened my day to see some things never change.

no tool, cus it was not needed. all units could get different look and items just adding them in XML files. wanted unit with two swords? you could add line where you tell game that this sword will be added to both hands, not only right one. wanted different look? you could just add this item to you sovereign or unit. right now a lot of things has been cut off.

It works the same way as in FE, as far as I am aware. The included Workshop tools are exactly the same tools.
