BIG BUG! Buying no-base folks does nothing.

So I'm in a game, and one guy goes afk. No base. I buy him out, and nothing happens.

Do you mean that you were never able to win the game?

Soren,

Even if a player doesn't load into the game, and therefore doesn't found a colony, they still show up on the stock list with stock that can be purchased. However, buying them out completely, does nothing as there are no assets to acquire. The money is just wasted.

End of Soren_Johnson's quote

That would also be interesting to test.

So the theory is you should be able to found their HQ?  Alternatively they just shouldn't show up as a buyable option (no buying stock in companies without HQ)?

They shouldn't be an option to buy. A player getting bought out early tends to ruin the game since its such a big advantage.

The initial price of the shares was $6. Not expensive, but not cheap, either.

Approximately 100k for an entire colony worth of claims is relatively cheap compared to what buying someone would normally cost and influences the game significantly.

The others were worth about $7. It's not about the cheapness though, but that dead men don't fight.

Anyway, something needs to happen...
