will not start

I tried verifying - no go

So I have deleted local content and downloading.

One thing that may have contributed to it is a while back did a verify and 7 files were missing - before the verify it worked.

What I get now is a flash of a black screen and a popup. It only last a second so have no idea what it says and see no crash files.

It still does not start but now the black screen and popup stay.

It is Fail to initialize display.

Got the 1.1 and back to the flash.

I can try using my Intel instead of my Radeon by changing my CCC settings.

If you go to my docs/my games/galciv3, you'll find a file called 'debug.err'. Open it up in notepad and you'll find the game's log, which might shed some light on what's happening.

OK, so it's failing to call Direct3D. You've tried switching between your on-board card and your Radeon, so we can assume it's not a hardware problem. It's not likely to be a driver issue either, since the intel and radeon cards both use separate drivers.

I'd suggest trying to re-install DirectX and seeing if that helps. What O/S are you running on, btw?

I found the prob

In updating my intel video driver I was taken  back to 9.3. With the Intel being built in and the Radeon Discrete my hd 4000 affects draw.

the available install for updating it would not work with my laptop so restored an image from a month ago.

All is working just have to redo a month and update to 1.1.

Would have been to easy if my driver saves were not corrupted.

If you have a radeon added in, why not disable the intel card in the BIOS?

Power usage and seems that my comp uses both to some degree.

I do not remember seeing it in the BOIS but will check again.

Unfortunately right. Listed but no way to do anything to it.
