Hey guys, I'm starting this little thread here as a place for everyone to post images that could in some way inspire the Star Control team. Think of it as visual inspiration which could develop into ideas for back story content, technology, alien races... even music visualization.

I'll start:



Idea: The first contact is made using a robotic astronaut...



Idea: Robotic astronauts break away from Earth and start their own colony. Kind of like an earlier version of the Androsynth. They come back to Earth with a warning after having made hostile contact...

Idea: An alien race that lives in the clouds.

Idea: A parasite that attaches to a human face and uses bony structures to move the mouth and face when speaking. Or, the alien itself lives on the inside of a dead person's body and replaces the skeleton. It uses bony protrusions to animate the face when speaking. Back story: Human explorers landed on a planet, died in a crash/exploration accident and became hosts to the "internal beings". Perhaps these beings reverse engineered the human spacecraft and built their own ships... now their mission is to search for more dead human/alien hosts to mobilize their species throughout the galaxy.
