[MOD] Fandom Factions

Madoka Civs

I decided to make a mod and so I decided to whip up a Faction mod using Vice Virtuoso's Madoka Magica mod as a base for a factions mod in Galactic Civilizations. I used his icons as well as the best artowrk I could find with Google. Its hard to get good artwork at the same size and visual quality as Galactic Civ 3. The backgrounds are straight from a PSP game for Madoka Magica.

I also included an extra zip file of unused art assets which includes another leader foreground and matching portrait for Nagisa in her Magical Girl form as well as the huge library of backgrounds from the Madoka PSP game.

Any criticisms or improvements you could offer to the mod, I'm all ears!

Update 1 - Fixed some odd line breaks that shouldn't happen but do.

Update 2 - Not realizing that every modification I made to a race required a new race and make a new filename, had duplicate factions. Also, I didn't have Sayaka in the last version but she is here now!

Update 3 - Reversed Update 1. It apparently runs deeper than I though and I can't fix the glitches GalCiv 3 has with it's internal faction creator. Adding spaces to remove apparent line breaks can cut off and remove words. I hope they fix it soon!

Disgaea Civs

As you can see from my avatar I'm a Disgaea fan! So I've made some Disgaea 4 civs. Also included are extra unused Icons from Disgaea 4.

I've only played with it briefly but I like it so far.

Updated! Fixed a couple mistakes, still getting used to the Galatic Civ in game faction editor but I should probably figure out the XML side for more complex Civs.

Another Update!

I discovered something I probably should have noticed earlier and that is if I try to fix the line breaks it ends up removing some text, so we'll just have to wait until Stardock fixes the issues with custom factions.

And I've changed this thread to my fandom thread! (While I still have my other thread for more silly endeavors). And my next set of factions based on Disgaea 4.

downloaded.  Love Disgaea.   Do you take requests?  Hows about Mass Effect races?

It's only a matter of time before someone starts making Touhou civs. Shit, you could fill an entire game with Touhou civs.

If you don't make those yourself, I'll get started on them once I finish my main custom race.

I would consider requests but I haven't played Mass Effect so that one is a no go :P.

Requests would be much more successful if you can provide me with high res pictures (preferably ones with a solid color background as cutting out a background is hard work) At least for the main leader, I can whip up a background and icon easy. I've already been working with high res pictures that are slightly corrupted from background bleed, in particular all of the Disgaeans there were on a white background and I had to tool the edges of each character so that it looked decent (I use GIMP, I just toss up a black ground and blur the edges then take out as much black as I can. Sometimes I touch up other areas too)

I would make Touhou Civs but I'm not actually familiar with most of the Touhou cast though I do love the character designs. I'll leave those girls to someone else.

My next project will probably be something Nintendo. Some nice Mario based Civs, or Advance Wars.

ALSO, I may consider adding mods for new personality traits etc to my mods but I'm definately going to provide a version that doesn't take mods and only provide mods if the author will provide permission to redistribute the mod in my Civs (Ensuring that a mod version that works with my civs is provided and that if they drop off the grid I can update the mod if necessary. I modded Civ 5 quite a bit into XML editing and SQL commands I just haven't gotten around to learning GalCiv3)

On that note, I'm going to add to the first post that I give permission for Civpacks if I'm provided credit, and that if I don't update the mod for a few months someone is free to take over my stuff.
