UAC - cannot see prompt when Windows 7 Taskbar is hidden

Running OD 2.20.0.862 on W7 Ultimate 64-bit. I have the W7 taskbar set to hidden in OD Settings.

The problem I have is when I run a program that requires a UAC prompt (e.g. something set to 'Run as Administrator'). On normal W7, this displays a  dialog on which you can confirm you want to run the application.

But when the W7 taskbar is hidden by OD, this dialog does not display. I either have to re-enable the W7 taskbar to select the dialog from the shield icon on the W7 taskbar (that is NOT captured by the dock) or kill the program requesting authorisation with the task manager.

Any suggestions?

What happens if you let Windows hide the taskbar?

Sort of solved it - if I set the dock to 'Show All running Windows' then the UAC Shield icon appears. This is not ideal as it means I get extra icons on the dock for each running application IN ADDITION to their icons on the dock.

Really OD ought to capture the appearance of the UAC dialog and display it on the dock like any other program.

Wizard1956 - Windows itself, using standard UI, does not permanently hide the taskbar. There may be a registry teak that does so, or can increase the delay before it pops up. I'll investigate.

Apparently no standard windows features for manipulating the auto-hide but found a utility (cr*p - yet another memory resident program) called Taskbar Activate that has given me a usable workaround.
