To Developers: Please make it so ship designs can be included in mods

Through modding, you are able to make it so custom factions (or even standard factions) use a different set of ship designs for all its ships by editing the ShipClassDefs and FactionShipStyleSetDefs files.  However, you cannot package the custom ship designs with the mod because mods don't recognize a folder within the mod folder for ship designs.

In my previous tests, if you define things in the xmls mentioned, they don't even recognize ships and designs in the My Games/GalCiv3/Designs folder.  They only recognize ones in the program files/steam..etc.  Designs folder.

I would think no more than a couple lines of code would solve this.  And it just makes sense.  If modding is intended to be a valuable part of the game's growth, then this seems to be a no brainer to me.

I'm betting [hoping?] this will be done around the same time Steam Workshop is introduced, so we can all share designs. (which should have been done for the official release...)

I hope so too.  I've mentioned this issue in the past, but it has been stuck in other threads.  So, I wasn't sure if it would be noticed... although my mod was looked at for the faction competition... just not sure if they actually tried to play them or just selected them based on concept.

In the modding live stream it was mentioned that this is already fixed. Not sure if it was meant about the build we already have or about a future release (the build Derek was using) though.

End of In_stasis's quote

I assumed they meant for 1.1, as that's when the Steam Workshop stuff is supposed to be coming.
