Definitely something wrong with Steam Synchronization

Just wondering if this is the cause for a lot of crashes on saves/new games etc.

Seems to me Steam synchro is somehow not working well (have it myself with savegames, which suddenly reappear  and crashes on saving etc.)

Already have a ticket in.

That can actually be disabled in steam. It isn't required at all.

The problem is that Stardock disabled cloud saves for GC3 and it is still happening, and the only way to handle it is by disabling cloud for all your games and I don't want to do that.

I have already disabled steam sync for Galciv3, it just sits there waiting for ever for the sync in order to finish so I turned it off.

Valve have lots of good ideas for their service, but their servers just cannot deliver the goods most days.

why disable it, though? it seems an useful feature to me, for people playing on more than one computer.

Because there are currently some problems for it with GC3. Deleted save games are brought back for example.

Yes, I know that, but it wasn't happening with beta 6.2, only with 1.0 release.  Is it a Galciv bug or a Steam bug?
