[Bug] Game Scaling Issue

Hoping to get some sort of help with this,  so here goes.  When Launching the game the scaling is completely off, something like 40% of the width and possibly a little bit of the height are cut off, left with a sort of wonky zoomed in image.  The is also the case for the cinematic at the start, and of course means the title menu is completely unusable.  The mouse can not scroll far enough to even guess click for an option menu as it is still limited by my actual screen size, meaning the game is cutting off, not simply over extended.  I have tried reinstalling to no avail, and have seen at least a few other people complaining about this same issue on steam.  I did manage to get it to work briefly by fiddling with desktop resolution sizes, it ran in 1280 oddly enough, usually i run in 1980, which is the games native resolution according to the options menu.  However the game randomly closed ittself half way through a game, with no error or crash notification.  Since then no matter what I set my desktop resolution to, I can't get it to work.  This is incredibly frustrating, just hoping someone has figured out a work around, or something.  Please post if you have this issue too, or if you know a fix.  Thanks in advance.

There have been a few people having problems like this when hooking the game up to a TV (I am guessing through an HDMI or "computer" connection on the TV). Is this your configuration?

Another idea is that if you go into your prefs.ini file about 4 lines down you will see two lines for "DisplayResolution" and "Fullscreen". You may be able to get around this problem while Stardock is processing the ticket you submitted on the problem (did you submit one?) by changing the values for these variables.

Ya I am running it through a TV, and I did end up finding the prefs.ini work around while I continued looking after posting this, but thanks.  However I now have another issue.  Seems to be linked to how the game loads into maps.  I cannot create a game on anything over large galaxy, or have to stay at 6 or less total civs, or the game crashes when I try to create it.  This wouldn't be a big deal honestly I could deal with it, however its also impossible to load a game thats gone over say 50 turns.  I feel like the game has so much in its save file, and it isn't optimized well, so it hits a hiccup and the game CTDs.  I am guessing this is the case with larger maps and more civs, the more things the game has to load the more chances it runs into a hiccup and dies.  Can not find any work around for this, save leaving the game on til I can finish it, which is admittedly a bit frustrating.
