Slightly modify Windows 8.1 elements wirh WindowBlinds

Hello,

I'm new to WindowBlinds and am wondering now if it it possible to modify just a few elements of my existing Windows 8.1 Professional desktop. I don't want to use one of the many full-blown styles around here or even create a new one from scratch, I just want to make some little contrast improvements of certain elements of the Windows 8.1 user interface (e.g. the colour of the scrollbars and window titles).

Is this possible? Something like "load the current settings, make some modifications and use the result with WindowBlinds"? I haven't found this feature in SkinStudio.

Since I switched from good old Windows XP to Windows 8 some months ago, I have grown accustomed to many new elements of Windows 8 (with a little help from Classic Shell), but have never understood why it isn't possible anymore to change the color of many desktop elements separately as it was the case with Windows XP.

Thank you.

Frank

It is not possible to do what you want with Windowblinds that I know of, you would need to design a complete skin to your liking using SkinStudio.

Pity. Is there a theme that reminds the look of Windows 7 (or even Windows XP) I can start with?

You can recolor this skin: https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/8181/

I built it by request to give windows 7 the windows 8 look, but it works perfectly on 8.1 as well. I have even used it myself on W8 because using the native recoloring controls won't change your titlebar font to a lighter color if you use a dark window frame.

Not sure that's what you are looking for, but it's there if you like.......

Since you say you have Classic Shell installed, try viewing this video, it gives some very useful tips.
