NEED help with a ship design question

Hi,

I recently spent too many hours designing a 'Huge' ship. I completed the design phase and went to equip... I saw I had a size capacity several sizes smaller than the Size the ship actually is. It's almost physically twice the size of the Human "Titan" ship. I remember selecting the Huge starter when I began designing but during the initial phase I had several glitches and had to save the design, exit the game, and reload. I fear that during one of these events it set itself as a medium starter...

How can I up the capacity to the appropriate size without resetting the entire design. There is NO way I can duplicate this design from scratch. It would take at least 20 times longer to even attempt it, as I have no idea what went where, and I made beyond numerous changes as I progressed.

It is completely foolish looking for it to be gargantuan in size with only 180 space...

It is beyond discouraging to ever try to design a ship ever again if something like this can occur and you cannot change the capacity of the design without resetting it..

Unfortunately you can't size up a design. I expect this to happen in the future.

What you can do is use the group and save as template button to save groups of components and then make a new design. The button is on the design pallete with the flip and mirror controls. I had to do this because I made my Miranda ship a Tiny instead of a small ship.

End of Illauna's quote

This is the only real way to switch a design from one hull size to another right now, as Illauna said.

A related suggestion would be to pay attention to offsets and rotations while grouping. I often find it best to set these to zero before making the group and writing down the offset and rotation. That way, when you use the component, you don't end up with the component being placed at a wonky position relative to the hardpoint.

I feel your pain. :(

Hope this helps a little!

I have over 11 full rows of components. Impossible to remember each one. I have each one with offsets and size changes, rotations etc.

I have components I've offset to be apart and joined them up later on, some parts rotate, oscillate etc. so it looks like there are internal workings.

I just hope I can segment them into 2 large components, and have it go together... Perhaps if I Hide all parts I can see where they attach to on the original starter and group them.

Cheers

Update: when I grouped all the mods into one grouping and selected to save it as a custom module. Nothing was saved. I did it several times to make sure, but nothing. I entered the name of the new module when prompted, but nothing is avail. to use.

I'll just have to uninstall the game until this feature is implemented. It's just frustrating to see the ship and not want to use it as it is flawed.
