Adding more AI players

Hi!

I just bought Galciv and can't find an answer to a basic question (probably really stupid, but please have patience). I read that the game supports up to 100 factions. I only see eight races. Does this mean that I need to create new races in order to have more than eight players on the map? Have I missed something?

Yes, you have to create new races. Upon 1.1 they should open up Steamworks so you can download other's custom races as well.
