Beta 6 .95.5 Techs listed in trade screen are from a different tech tree?

I'm playing as a custom race that is using the Terran tech tree.  When I go to the trade window I see techs listed on the left hand side (where the techs I have and can trade) that I haven't researched and aren't in the Terran tree.  The screen shot shows the tech Mental Exploitation, which is in the Drengin tech tree, not the Terran tech tree.  And no, I haven't traded with the Drengin for it, the Drengin are not in my game.

As another example, I've researched the Federalist Party tech to get the +20% economic bonus, but the tech listed in the trade screen is Slave-Master Party, which gives the same bonus but is a Drengin tech.

1) first off nearly all the techs have a generic name which you dont usually see
lets say its Federal_party1.tech (im not sure what it really is so i just made it up) 

most of the races then have that tech but to spice it up they call it things like
federal party               - terrens
slave-master party       - drengin
gold love party            -iconian
meatbag slaughter party- yor

(again more making stuff up yay) 

this allows you to give your federal party to the drengin and they would recieve slave master party even though you dont actually have slave-master party

 

2) i think i heard somewhere that the techs you offer show up as the tech tree of the race you are trading with..... which in my opinion is completely back-assward they should all be listed as the familiar tech that you have if you're playing the terrains they should use the terrain names, if you're playing the drengin they should show the drengin names.
if you're playing terrain and im plaing drengin and we're trading your screen should show terrain and my screen should show drengin.

my guess is you are either trading with the drengin now (but the're not in your game) or trading with someone using the drengin tech tree

Now that makes sense as an explanation ... although it's very confusing and I don't see why it needs to be done that way.  Anyway, I was trading with one of the built-in minor races (not a mod), so I suppose it could have been using the Drengin tech tree (although it's using the Pragmatic ideology, which seems a strange match to the Drengin tree).
