Invasion problems

black screen and techs not available

I have seen two issues with invasions.   Wondering if others have seen these.

 

1.  Very often on starting the invasion (from the invasion screen) the screen just goes black.   This one I have ticketed.

 

2. Not sure about this one:   I have researched information warfare, but I don't get the option to use it on invasion...or am I just missing something?  I will watch more closely on next chance and will ticket it if I become more certain (been focusing on number 1 first).

 

 Ok, what I am thinking here is that since normal invasion is 100%, there is no need to show information warfare, which would cost money?

I knew I was forgetting something to report.

 

It never appears.  I have it, but I'm being shown tidal and biological warfare, never information, even if my likelyhood of success is 1 or 37 or 94.

 

Most likely a bug, imho.

I tested 0.95.3 this morning and got to an invasion situation.

In three tries, twice it succeeded and  once failed with the black screen.

I can provide full documentation if that would be useful.

Edit:  I didn't wait and went back to try to reproduce the black screen, with the invasion on the same turn, So I could get screen shot, save, and support tool.

Tried about 15 times.  It did not fail.   Grrrrrr.

Or maybe I should be happy.  Dunno.

I don't know...  I can reproduce mine everytime, even accross turns.  The only way to work around that is to somehow manage to conquer a planet in another solar system, if it doesn't freezes, then come back for the missing ones.

EDIT: actually, I can't even do that anymore.  it sucks. :(

3 invasions so far, Information Warfare never appears for me either even though I definitely researched it.

Every time has been 100% chance of success with normal warfare, but then again I thought the point of info warfare is to try to reduce damage / casualties?

Well my lucky streak ended and I did get another black screen on invasion.   However, I was lucky (feel the irony) that I had saved just before an attack from 1 hex away.  Well, not that lucky since I have been doing this the entire game.   So I appended full documentation of this event to my ticket  OBF-644-50666.   Maybe it will help!  (This is 95.3 of course.)

I haven't tested 97,7 yet.  I have over 100 invasions without incident using 97.5.  

I have been working on the Wiki, finally finished first draft of the ship parts - there are a LOT of parts lol, so maybe I can test today .

Im experiencing this too- i have techs for different invasion methods but mostly only 2 appear- even if i buy remaining techs from Ai, they do not appear, info tech never appears.

for my part, with .97.5 it seemed ok, Information warfare appears in my choices.

And I have had zero freezes on invasion too.
