How do I fix this skin?

I really like this skin because it has a neat kind of OS feel to it. However, it has this weird alignment problem in the title bar. Is this something I can fix myself with skin studio? If so, what would I need to do? Also, is it possible for me to replace the task bar graphic to something a little more flat looking? That I can live with but the title bar issue makes it unusable.

Because of the number of WindowBlinds in the Gallery it is always helpful to identify the name of the skin you have a question about.     :sun:

It appears that you may be using Firefox as your browser of choice. I use Google Chrome as my default browser and sometimes I will use Internet Explorer 11 for watching my video apps. I haven't experienced the issue you seem to be having with this particular skin ( I'm on Win7 64 bit ), so I'm thinking it may go back to being a browser - rendering issue.    -- Ace --

A little confused here. The title bars look exactly like they do in the skins screenshot, could you be more specific on the problem? Also, the skin was designed for Windows XP only almost 8 years ago. Are you still using Windows XP?

I am using Windows 8.1 and use Chrome mainly. I just opened a few windows to show the issue. If you look closely, you can see the alignment issue at the bottom of the title bar where there is a gap. I know it's an old skin but I really like it. I can't see it being an image issue. I wonder if I can just generate a new skin file with the latest skin studio to fix it?

I'd have to agree with Lightstar. If even the skins screenshot looks the same it has been designed this way. -I can't see why this small issue would make it "Unusable" for you though. ;)

Well, it just makes things look messy. It seems that the issue is with any window that has tabs. Here is a closer look:

If the skin was made for XP its going to look a little off on an OS it wasn't made for. Just sayin'

I'm somewhat reluctant to get involved with this type of thread, I do understand how people can be sensitive regarding theme modification.

The white line is indeed by design and is included in the window frame caption images, both the Per Pixel and UIS2 frames. There is nothing to "fix" in that regard but you may certainly modify the images for your own personal use.

Restrictions: Modifying the images and/or themes is for your own use and amusement only. Only the original artist has the right to distribute his/her images without permission from that artist, regardless of whether the images are in an original or modified state. That means a person is not permitted to use another person's original or modified images without permission, either individually or in combination with other images, within anything that he/she chooses to share. That also means no one other than the original artist is permitted to modify an image for a person and distribute it to him/her.

Also, if you modify a skin, it would not be reasonable to expect the original artist (or anyone else) to provide specific help on that skin afterward. You may get some help via the public forum, but that is not necessarily to be "expected".

That is my understanding of the rules, not a legal quote.  Hopefully that has it covered. If not, someone can feel free to correct me or expand.

If you want to modify the images for your personal use you would use SkinStudio and an image editor. There is a SkinStudio tutorial here:

Happy tweaking.
