Bugs(?)/issues and suggestions

Issues:

- You can't have an orphaned shipyard - the game won't let you proceed - you are forced to find a sponsor. You should be able to have a shipyard that's inactive and/or orphaned.

- United Planets Council ALWAYS adopts my proposals - is this WAD? (Working As Designed)

- AI always categorically rejects my Alliance and even Non-Aggression treaties no matter how much I bribe them or how much they like me - is this WAD?

- Idle colony bug - game won't let me proceed - can't see what to build or upgrade in the colony (it's maxed out with buildings) in order to get past this

- I have 2 civ capitals! (Altaria and Easluna)

Suggestions:

- Useful to have a "don't colonize in my ZOC" treaty rather than just relying on the UP Council resolution, which is infrequent and doesn't last

- Like in the Total War series, how about having a "declare war on civ X" diplomatic option to ask your fellow civs? This might do away with some of the point of Alliances, I admit, but they seem impossible to obtain currently anyway and should you always need to be allied to a civ to get it to go to war with someone else? - a decent bribe or some techs etc. might suffice :)

I have never got an Alliance, despite my best efforts, so I don't know how your ally deals with your enemies.

* This is a bloody good game in its current state and the developers are geniuses.

Idle colony - there are unending projects you can assign to your colony (Research Project, Birthing Subsidies, etc) that will allow you to proceed.

Orphan shipyard - You can respond "Ok" to the prompt about the shipyard having no sponsor, and you'll then have an orphaned shipyard.  I created 2 shipyards for the same planet by accident, did this, then un-anchored the shipyard and moved it to another planet that hadn't built one yet.

Thanks - I've managed to work around the colony building issue - for now.

I also figured out how to get around the orphaned shipyard problem. There's a shut down shipyard option on the manage screen of a shipyard, so you can turn them off for a while :)

Btw I've noticed that the invading force always wins the planet - obviously this is not WAD.

End of Ed1975's quote

I'm sure they have a lot more work planned for that.

I have had the council vote against proposals that impose a huge tax on them with little benefit. This is rare and they do seem to agreeable. They also vote me in as chairman every time. Even if they hate me. Anyway, it's not broke, it just needs adjusting.

I have gotten many non-aggression treaties and I have won a couple of alliance victories The non-aggression are much harder to get in B5. Not only do you have to be strong, they have to be weaker than heck. I have had some overjoyed factions, who dearly love me, tell me I must be kidding when I propose a NA pact. I just go away and come back 40-50 turns later when they are being left in the dust by me and everyone else. I offer the same treaty and they thank me for my generous gift. That is when I get just about all they own. :)
