Brief freeze when maximizing minimized windows from dock

I have been having an annoying problem where sometimes when you open up a minimized window from the dock, the window freezes for a few seconds. It happens randomly but commonly enough for me to want to fix it- I think it may involve the animation when maximizing, as the window appears blurry during the time it is frozen. Does anyone else have any insight to this problem?

I have the same problem! The minimize/maximize animation is slow, choppy, and overall inconsistent.  I have a fast computer with plenty of RAM (8 GB) and I still experience problems with it.  It annoyed me so much that I just turned it off.  I still show minimized windows on my Dock, but I use the following setting, which does not use the animation effect:

  • On my dock: Taskbar options --> Show windows as their snapshots when minimized

Also, I turned off Windows' own Taskbar animations (and I hide the Windows Taskbar)

These settings seem to work better for me and minimized windows immediately appear on my Dock, with no lag or choppy effects.
