Problem with increase temperature Motherboard

Hello :)

When i playing to Galactic Civilization 3, temperatures in my motherboards is tho high! After 10 minutes for a game my motherboard reaches 90 degrees Celsius! This is very strange. When I played to other games (example Elemental Fallen Enchantres) I have  less degrees.

Beta 4 is poorly optimized? My laptop: Dell 7720, 8GB, GeForce 650M and SSD 120GB.

Please look for my picture --> http://i.imgur.com/i7HyGeX.jpg ,and help me ;)

Btw. Sorry for my bad english :P

I have an i7-4770 (one level newer than yours, and without the integrated GPU) and it seldom reaches 50 degrees C.

I have two questions for you:

1) are you forcing overclocking of your CPU? That can cause higher temperatures. Also, CPUs these days tend to underclock when temperatures exceed a certain percentage of their maximum allowed temperature to avoid frying the CPU (maybe the 90 degrees C you are seeing is that point).

2) how long has it been since you opened your computer and vacuumed the dust out.

Also, could there be some combination of GPU settings between the two you have that is adding to the heat? I have heard a lot about the interaction between the Intel HD series of integrated GPUs and discreet GPUs (like your GeForce 650M) and some of the difficulties some users have had, but since I don't have an integrated GPU I have not been following those concerns in sufficient depth to be of any help to you. Other fans here may provide better guidance.

GC3 is a new product and is built for newer CPUs than previous games, including Elemental and, with its wider range of map sizes, larger number of computer opponents, larger number of inhabitable population centers (cities, planets), etc, is more complex and demanding on the CPU processors.

Clean your fans out and consider getting a laptop cooler.  GalCiv is a very CPU intensive game.  Fallen Enchantress is not.

But When i play in Endless Legend or Mortal Kombat 9 - my temperatures Mobo is so smaller! ;/

When it comes to CPU usage, no two games act the same. Some of the differences between GC3 and EL are:

GC3 is written in 64 bit addressing mode, EL is in 32 bit mode; which allows GC3 to keep track of much more game data, such as more population centers, mobile units, resource sources, etc., each of which requires the execution of code to manage. Hence, GC3 places a much greater demand on the processors than EL, which takes energy, which increases heat.

The map sizes available in GC3 range to much larger than in EL, which gives more places to put population centers, resource points, and units; more heat.

There are more details for each unit, resource, and population center to keep track of, and more code to do the keeping track; more heat.

Hmmm This is weird.. Today when I play Galciv3 my mobo have 69-79 degrees celsius :). I set default all options in Nvidia panel (example - vsync), Maybe this solved my problems ;)
