Start8 not available on win 8.1 tablet (yes, it is installed<G>)

I have 3 Win 8.1 critters, 2 desktops and a newbie, a Winbook TW802 from Microcenter which has 8.1 installed as it comes on an 8" screen. It acts as a reguler 8,1 desktop install. Has problems when apps need more than the 2GB ram, but otherwise is a neat thing. Love the std USB port (supports usb 2 hub!) which sees Logitech receivers, external drives, and whatever.

First experience showed me why so many cuss Win 8. Yup. I agree, now. But my 2 desktops use Start 8 and work great. So I bought start 8 for the tablet. Now I am getting the start 8 "icon" only after reboot. Otherwise I get a icon like google apps...a bunch of tiny squares in a 3x3 (or 4x4?) arrty. As id this is an entry to google apps, not Start 8.

I do use Chrome as my default browser. On desktops and on the Winbook.

Did I somehow click the wrong thing and put chrome apps as mu startup button? (sure as stuff I do not wqant that!).

How can I fix.
