Mixed thoughts.

I would like to think I ran into a stalemate in the game, but truth is I have just lost.

A good many turns earlier I was able to select the spell of making as the Tyrant, chose to wait though to play on further. 

Threat level goes up to 4 of 5, not sure where all the Sorcerer Kings Minions are coming from because have wiped out 95% of camps (I suppose the Sorcerer King does not have to worry about logistics). For a second time I fore go selecting the spell of making from Sovereigns skill tree, and my 4 cities (Sorcerer King 0 cities) are slowly falling one by one after multiple attacks until finally down to my original well protected city.

Here are the mixed feelings, that city is maxed out and I have zero ability to receive anymore logistic points, can not produce anymore units which means no Urax to found another city for me, so not really a stalemate but game over. Not sure what I think about being in this situation, but then again I had plenty of opportunity earlier in the game to both attack the Sorcerer King and select the spell of making option, so does my current situation really matter?

 

PS: Can you tell, from above based on Brad's Pacing Test post, that I am going to be the Hard Core/Crazy random map guy.

SK's ability to bring in more minions is based on 3 things:

1. Shards destroyed

2. Player Threat

3. SK cities

Item #1 and #3 are the most important but 2 does have some affect.

Re Logistics:

There is more coming on this front.  I suspect you were running into thralls (which suck up logistics in your city and are tied to the doomsday counter).  It's all very much a balance thing.

Yep, was being hit by thralls.

There was only 1 shard destroyed, player threat was 4 of 5, and SK cities were 0.

As stated was prolonging the game more than needed, went back to an earlier save, drained a couple of shards and cast the spell of making. 

Knowing you can not play endlessly on, I think is a good choice, helps to make the game quicker, knowing you need to strike as quickly as possible or else you will lose through running out of momentun. There is always the larger maps for the longer games.

Is more going to be done with the winning the game screen, perhaps differing cut scene endings for each hero, rather than a static picture screen
