I guess I am getting too old for Stardock

I wanted help with my stardock product.  It is difficult to find a phone number that says "Support".  It is as if they want to make it so difficult that you will just go away.  I called the corporation number and had no choice for "Support".  I pressed "0" and a nice person connected me with a phone recording where I could leave my number.  I have two computers and my life has become consumed with just making them work properly.  My problem is I have elements of Stardock software on both.  One of the computers is telling me I must enter a product key for Launch8.  I am not sure if I need Launch8 as opposed to Start8, or if it should be part of modern mix or if I have mixed up my installations on one of the computer and need to purchase or uninstall a program.  I was hoping to get someone at Stardock to tell me if I had a license problem and what I needed to purchase but I give up.   I will simply uninstall Launch8 and hope I do not get the key request any longer.  A key is only $4.99 but I don't have any way to be sure that I have not already paid for this in ModernMix or if I have to buy another copy of ModernMix for the machine that is complaining.

 

Stardock, how about a $10.00/fix phone number for us old Vietnam Vets that just want to use our computer instead of spending out day trying to understand your licensing?  For now, I will just toss Launch8.

Although, I'd like to try and help you here.

Three different products you are mentioning, which all do different things:

Start8 - Gives you back the start menu that is missing in Windows 8

ModernMix - Lets you run the modern Windows 8 apps in regular desktop windows.

Launch8 - Gives you a dock launcher on the Windows 8 modern start screen.

You can use them all or just one.  They don't rely on each other so it's up to you.
