Beast master cool down?

Is there a way to tell when your beast master skill has cooled down besides going into battle?  I have looked all over the interface but it's seems to be void of this information, which is daft, you need this information before battle.

How on earth can a fill my zoo, if I only get one beastie every 10 tactical turns?

The other tactical spells and stuff don't really matter, or have no cooldown they are ready every time if you have the mana.

Ha, ok.

I have a vague recollection that back in FE it was a 5 turn cooldown, or something less than 10 turns.  But everyone says Beastmaster is overpowered.... hence it has a 10 turn cooldown, 1 beast per battle I guess.

Personally I think it's about right.

 

Silver Tongue (the diplomat ability) is longer, it has a 99 turn cooldown if that makes you feel any better.

10 turns doesn't alter how overpowered it is, just makes it an annoying grind.

Provided you have enough mana, the ability is always available when you start a new battle. The tactical cooldown is per battle.

 

Narr!  I'm sure I have plenty of mana and can have more than several battles before I have the beast mater function again.  Can anyone else comment on this?

Tatty, the taming is always ready to use when a battle begins. The 10 turns don't carry over, they get reset.
